WOMEN LEADERS HAVE REAL ASSETS IN NEW MANAGERIAL PRACTICES

A year ago, we released a comprehensive study on the myths and realities surrounding ‘Feminine Leadership’ in partnership with the International Coaching Federation³ (Omind Neurotechnologies Study – ICF France, 2022). We found that women project many self-limiting beliefs onto themselves at work, whereas in reality there is no difference between men’s and women’s behavior. We also presented neuroscience-based solutions for breaking this self-perpetuating circle of representations of ‘female leadership’ and profoundly changing the current dynamic.

What are we seeing today with our new data?

WOMEN MANAGERS ARE MORE FOCUSED ON … OTHERS!

Women executives have more compassion for others than men executives (+16 points). They connect more easily with their teams, and are better able to create authentic relationships. We measured that they were much less indifferent to others than their male colleagues (-22.5 points), and were more aware of each other’s emotions (+10.8 points

COMPASSION FOR OTHERS

“We already know this, and at Omind we’ve measured it: women have developed more mature EMPATHY SKILLS. And in the new leadership models, this is fortunately now seen at its true value!

The links with collective performance are in fact widely demonstrated by studies. For example, Woolley et al.⁴ of MIT demonstrated in 2010 that empathy has 3 TO 5 TIMES MORE IMPACT on collective performance than IQ!”

BONUS: A FEW TIPS TO HELP YOUR POOL OF FEMALE TALENT TAKE ON SENIOR POSITIONS MORE QUICKLY

  • HELP THEM PRACTICE SELF-COMPASSION: non-executive women are more demanding of themselves than executive women, who are already well below their male colleagues. They don’t listen to themselves and tend to blame themselves when things don’t go their way -> – 11 points less self-compassion than female leaders.
  • DEVELOP THEIR ASSERTIVENESS AND SELF-CONFIDENCE, AUTHENTICALLY : 94% of women feel they have already lacked confidence at work⁵ (Misfit & Job Teaser study, 2022). The sign that women underestimate their abilities compared to their male colleagues, and are going to be less inclined or feel less legitimate to apply for positions of responsibility.
